Why AI Rewriting Has Become One of the Most In-Demand Skills in 2025 (And What Clients Are Actually Looking For)

Thinking of offering AI rewriting or humanizing services? Fiverr was one of the first platforms to create a dedicated space for this — and it’s still one of the best places to get started. After 2,000+ orders and over $100K earned, here’s what I’ve learned about where to find AI editing jobs (and why Fiverr still works in 2025).

Can you fix this so it doesn’t sound like AI wrote it?

Or… I am paranoid that people will read this and leave a review that says “AI crap”. Let’s redo it.

Yep, these are the kind of messages I get daily on Fiverr and directly from past clients.

The truth is the truth.. and everyone’s using AI now. You, me, your clients, and probably your dog’s vet. But here’s the real question in 2025: who’s fixing what it spits out?

While I use AI to write blog posts faster, and I often spend a lot of time talking to Chat GPT, clients or business related documents and artistic work is different.

As someone who works directly with clients across industries, I can tell you this editing and rewriting AI-generated content is no longer just a “nice to have.” It’s a core skill. And it is on demand.

Especially because people are finding the AI fluff… a bit hard to read.

Have you noticed how we glance past it?

From half-baked blog posts to full on book manuscripts, clients are reaching out to get help with rewriting their words. So here is what I’ve learned.

Disclaimer: This is my take as a marketer, someone who runs an agency and has freelanced for over 7 years. I’ve worked with 500+ clients and businesses and watched the direction of SEO shift, especially for small and solo-preneurs. This isn’t advice for a multi-million-dollar brand with an SEO team. It’s for bloggers, creators, and small business owners like us.

The Google Fear

The Google SEO fear came and went back in 2022 and then again 2023 but with the Helpful Content Update in general, I personally have advised most clients to avoid focusing on SEO.

This might come as bad news to a lot of people that focused on SEO agencies and SEO building, but again, the truth is the truth.. and that ship has probably sailed.

Chances are a new one will come back, but for now, playing the SEO game with blogs is not enough.

Instead, clients need to focus on the funnels they have in place (their email marketing and social media) to attract eyes to their blog posts.

How to rewrite AI content in 2025?

Here’s what I look for when clients ask me to clean up or “humanize” AI content:

  • Is the info accurate and up to date? AI still hallucinates. I fact-check every stat, quote, or historical reference.
  • Does it sound human? If it feels like a Wikipedia mashup with zero flow or emotion, it needs more than a light edit.
  • Can you tell what the author’s trying to say? Most AI drafts try to say everything — and end up saying nothing.
  • Does it match the brand’s tone? If your brand is warm, sarcastic, or professional, the writing needs to reflect that. AI won’t get you there on its own.

My process? First I read. Then I check for errors. Then I rewrite — sentence by sentence — with clarity, rhythm, tone, and reader experience in mind. This isn’t about swapping a few words. This is about rewriting the way a real person talks.

The Mistakes I See Clients (and Writers) Still Making

Letting AI edit itself. I’ve tested this. A lot. Back when it made a splash, I had subscriptions to everything from Jasper to Copy.ai, and then of course GPT-4.

Keeping the fluff. AI loves a soft intro. You’ve probably seen it: “In today’s fast-paced world, writing is more important than ever.” Delete. Rewrite. Move on.

Thinking editing = proofreading. If your job is to make AI text publish-ready, you need to go beyond grammar and spelling. You need to reshape and restructure the entire piece when necessary. AI does a great job at proofreading, which I use it for a lot. (and end up with a few em dashes here and there that I keep begging it to remove, but ok).

What clients mean when they say AI rewrite

What clients are looking for is often not what they want to hear. A lot of times, they come to me with a book manuscript or sales funnel that is fully AI-written — and it shows. They want a quick tweak to make it better, but what they don’t want to hear is that I need to tweak the whole thing. Not just a few words here and there. I mean, sure, I can do that too… but it won’t make the difference they’re hoping for. That said, sometimes that’s good enough — and if they’re happy, I’m happy.

Where to Find AI Rewriting Jobs (and Why Fiverr Still Works)

If you’re a digital nomad looking to offer this kind of service, Fiverr is still one of the easiest places to start. I’ve done over 2000 orders there and crossed $100,000 in earnings, and I’ve seen firsthand how quickly AI-related gigs are growing.

Fiverr was one of the first platforms to officially recognize AI services, with entire categories now dedicated to:

  • AI rewriting
  • AI editing
  • AI fact-checking
  • Humanizing AI content
  • And more

There are thousands of sellers and an increasing number of buyers — because every time a business uses ChatGPT for content, they soon realize they still need someone to fix it.

You can also find opportunities through Upwork, LinkedIn, and direct client referrals. But Fiverr remains a powerful entry point, especially if you can clearly show what makes your service different (and better) than someone just slapping AI into a bio.
