Want to have an stress-free touch of luxury holiday of Greece?

I don’t blame you!

Whether you’re traveling with kids, your partner, or just need a break with no decisions to make, semi-inclusive or fully inclusive resorts make it easy to switch off and enjoy.

I used to be quite anti-resort back in the day, even though I did travel that way as a family, mostly cause I felt it took away from the experience. But a lot of these resorts and establishments actually offer rich cultural experiences and the choice for people to do as they please, inside and out of the resort grounds.

So why not take advantage of the perks once in a while?

Not to mention, many of the resorts on this list are design-forward spaces — blending modern luxury with local architecture.

With all that in mind, I’ve put together a master list of the best inclusive resorts around Greece and grouped by location.

What Does “All Inclusive” Actually Mean in Greece?

Before we go further let’s discuss the terms.

If you’ve ever booked an all-inclusive resort in Greece you’ll know that not every one operates under the same rules. What you can expect is buffet meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner plus local wine, beer and soft drinks.

You’ll also get access to the pools, gym and some kind of entertainment. Some even have kids’ clubs or low-key activities during the day, which is great for families.

These all inclusive resorts are perfect if you want access to amenities but still want to head out and explore the villages or area.

That said, if you’re hoping for a little something extra, several resorts offer optional experiences that can be added to your stay for a fee. For example, Domes of Elounda hosts wine tastings and workshops, while Costa Navarino is a Mecca for golf. Ikos Olivia includes a unique “Dine Out” program where you can enjoy local restaurants at no extra cost — a rare perk in the all-inclusive world.

How to Get to Greece (And Where You Should Fly Into)

For most international visitors it makes most sense to fly into Athens Airport.

Once in Athens, you can either stay a few nights or connect to a domestic flight or ferry, depending on where you’re headed.

Athens has a lot of offer, so especially if this is your first visit,  I would suggest a short stay in the capital to see the highlights.

For popular islands like Mykonos, Santorini, Rhodes, and Corfu, you’ll find direct flights from many European cities (especially in summer), or quick connections from Athens.

Which Part of Greece Should You Choose for a Resort Stay?

Greece has dozens of incredible regions, but not every place is ideal for a luxury all-inclusive stay.

I’ve done my best to highlight various resorts in each category including family friendly and adult only ones.

Some areas are more traditional or better suited for island-hopping, while others are perfect if you just want to land and relax. Here’s a quick guide based on vibe and travel style:

Crete

Best for: Families, couples, culture lovers

Crete is Greece’s largest island, and you’ll find a bit of everything here — ancient ruins, beautiful beaches, mountain villages, and top-tier resorts. It’s also more affordable than Mykonos or Santorini, with more space and variety. Chania is one of the most popular and romantic spots for couples. Heraklion has more big city energy but is close to archaeological sites worth seeing.

Mainland (Chalkidiki, Pelion, Epirus)

Best for: Nature lovers, spa breaks, mountain escapes

If you want lush landscapes, fewer tourists, and a mix of sea and mountain views, the mainland delivers. Northern Greece has some true hidden gems, and the resorts here often focus more on wellness and privacy. They are also better suited to winter or off season tourism as well. Plus, you’re more likely to run into locals.

Peloponnese

Best for: History buffs, wine lovers, low-key luxury

This peninsula has some of the country’s most important archaeological sites (like Mycenae and Epidaurus) and some amazing high-end resorts along the coast. It’s also easy to reach by car from Athens, which is a plus. Here are 50+ things you can do in the Peloponnese to give you ideas for your trip.

Mykonos

Best for: Lively luxury, adults-only escapes

Mykonos is known for its party scene, but there’s a quieter side too — with ultra-luxury resorts, stunning design, and private beach access. Expect higher prices and fewer all-inclusive options, but if you want to go all out, this is the spot. All inclusive higher means privacy and luxury amenities but you might have to go outside for dinner options (whih isn’t a big issue at all).

Other Islands (Rhodes, Corfu, Paros, etc.)

Best for: Balance of comfort and culture

Many of the smaller islands offer great all-inclusive options with a slightly more local feel. Rhodes and Corfu are especially good picks for a mix of sightseeing and pampering.

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

Must Know When Visiting Greece

  • Emergency: Dial 112 for all emergencies. For police, dial 100. For ambulance 166. For fire dial 199.
  • Language: English is widely spoken in most tourist areas. Common phrases to learn are “Kalimera” (Good morning), “Yia” (Hello and Bye – informal), and “Efharisto” (Thank you).
  • Water: Tap water is safe in Athens, mainland Greece and a small number of islands. Always ask beforehand.
  • Driving: Right-hand side, international driving permit recommended. Book your rental car with Discover Cars for the best rates and comparisons across all major and local companies.
  • Accommodation: Booking.com for the most options on hotels, apartments and hostels. Free cancellation in a lot of places and no need to pre-pay. Great for their rewards points system.
  • Islands: There are a lot of islands, spread out around the country. Start with a map or ferry service to get an idea of travel times. Ferry Scanner is the best for ferry bookings to the Greek islands.
  • Activities: From cultural sights to day trips, food tours and city guides, use Get Your Guide.
  • Public Transport: For Athens, use the Athens Metro. If you are not renting a car, use Trains (Hellenic Train) or KTEL (Public Buses) services.
  • Domestic Airlines: The main airlines for air travel are Aegean Airlines and Sky Express. I recommend Aegean Airlines and its rewards program.
  • Taxi: Always use a taxi app, instead of flagging down a taxi from the road. Use FREE Now (formerly BEAT).
  • Culture: A siesta nap is still common in less touristy areas. This also means businesses will close between 2 PM – 5 PM. Except for hospitality businesses, everything is closed on Sundays.
